On May 27th, the Star Education community came together for a deeply meaningful double celebration. Not only did we gather for Eid al-Adha—the second major holiday in the Islamic calendar—to connect community members from ages 7 to 77, but we also shared the immense joy and excitement of welcoming everyone to our brand-new venue.
Our program kicked off with the morning Eid Prayer, followed by a delicious community meal. The children had a blast jumping on the bouncy castle we set up for them, and the atmosphere grew even livelier as families joined their kids for group games. A highlight of the event was a lighthearted couples’ quiz testing how well spouses knew each other, which brought plenty of laughter and praise from the audience.
Because Eid is truly all about bringing smiles to young faces, we prepared traditional Eid money (Eidiya) for our kids. A respected elder of our community, Mr. Hilmi, personally handed out the gifts to the children, bringing a heartwarming touch to the tradition. Finally, another valued community member, Mr. Çetin, treated everyone by serving ice cream with his own hands, bringing our memorable celebration to a sweet close.
